Dust jacket has general soiling, edge wear and edge tears, a few edge chips - a large one at the top of the spine with slight loss of the word 'Princess'. two liquid stains on the spine and a very small stain on the front panel picture, now protected in a removable Gaylord sleeve. Of the 200 copies, 25 copies were leather bound with endpapers marbled by Colleen Gryspeerdt, and 175 copies (of which this is one) were quarter-bound in brown hessian over pink patterned paper covered boards. Printed at the Whittington Press, the text is handset in Bell type and printed on Zerkall mould-made paper. Light brown endpapers, printed title label to spine. 268 x 190 mm, pp. [48] with an engraving to the title page. A book in Fine condition.

Pages very good, lightly tanned with light creasing. Former Imperial College London copy with the following marks: 2 stamps (over-stamped "Withdrawn") to cover and title, and barcode to front. LRDG founder and Libyan Sands author Ralph Bagnold was closely associated with Imperial. His research there from 1935 culminated in his "Physics of Blown Sand and Desert Dunes" (1941). He then studied the transport of solids by water, working closely with the US Geological Survey, to which this work relates. He was elected a Fellow of Imperial in 1971.
